· Married to Julie (Powell) for twelve years 

· One son, Collin Christian, born in 2004

· One daughter, Reagan Elizabeth, born 2006

· Brian views his role as husband and father as the most important

 

A Career Helping Businesses

· Brian has spent a decade in the banking  industry. 

· He has assisted hundreds of small businesses, the real job creators in our economy.

· He has an in-depth understanding of the challenges that face our small businesses here in Michigan.

· Prior to being elected, Brian was employed at Irwin Union Bank, where he served as Vice President, Commercial Loans.

 

Dedication to the Republican Party

· Past Chairman of the Ionia County Republican Committee

· Past Treasurer of the Ionia County Republican Committee

· Appointed as the 2004 Chairman of the Ionia County Bush-Cheney campaign 

· Brian and his wife Julie have been intimately involved in preparation and organization of annual fundraisers for the Ionia County Republican Party, including the Lincoln Day Dinner and Ionia Free Fair Tent Dinner.

· Elected to the Ionia County Board of Commissioners in November of 2002 and re-elected in 2004

· Served the Board of Commissioners as Vice Chairman, a position he has held throughout his tenure
