Welcome to my website!
As I travel the 33rd Senate District, I continue to be amazed by the spirit of the people. Strong families and a strong work ethic characterize the proud citizens of Clinton, Ionia, Isabella and Montcalm Counties. It will be an honor to serve you in the State Senate.
I have worked with hundreds of small businesses during my career as a community banker. Now, I put that unmatched experience to work in the Michigan Legislature. I was honored to be named the Legislator of the Year by the Small Business Association of Michigan.
Please let me know what you think of my ideas and consider how you might get involved. This campaign will be a huge undertaking, but your help will make a big difference!
Sincerely,

Thankfully, some very skilled doctors have presented a plan to fix my daughter’s heart over the next few years. The plan is risky, but doing nothing is just not an option.
She will undergo surgery on Tuesday, April 27th in Ann Arbor. This surgery is meant to buy some time. She needs to be bigger and stronger before they attempt the next surgery, which carries many more risks.
I am going to be mostly unplugged from the campaign and job while she is in the hospital, which will only be 7-10 days, hopefully. During that time, my office will continue to deliver top notch service to my constituents.
I am also fortunate to have dependable and hard working campaign volunteers that will continue on with the campaign while I am tending to my family. I know you will understand that family has to come first.
I will be updating my Facebook page on a very regular basis as I can do that right from my blackberry. I know there are thousands of people praying for my daughter and my family, so I want to keep you informed as to her progress.
Kara’s big brother and sister are both doing well, even though they are getting short changed right now. They are real good kids and God is providing the strength to all of us during these difficult times.
Thank you for your well wishes, your prayers and your thoughts.
